Visa Consular de Turismo – Ocio o Negocios

Las citas se solicitan únicamente por teléfono al 010 6532-4157. Al solicitar la cita, el interesado debe indicar:

  • número de pasaporte;
  • nombre completo (según pasaporte);
  • fecha de nacimiento; y
  • número de teléfono de contacto en China.

La solicitud de visa consular de turismo se presenta personalmente en el Consulado de Costa Rica en Beijing. No se aceptan solicitudes por correo. El trámite es estrictamente personal y no se entregarán pasaportes a terceros, sin excepción.

Los requisitos necesarios para el trámite de visa se presentan a continuación, no se  puede efectuar el trámite si los requisitos se presentan incompletos. En caso así fuera, se denegará  la solicitud en el momento.

TODA solicitud de visa requiere:

  • Formulario de solicitud con toda la información completa, con fecha y firma del interesado;
  • 3 fotos, con fondo blanco, tamaño 2.5cm * 3.5 cm;
  • Pasaporte con seis meses de validez contada a partir de la fecha planeada de ingreso a Costa Rica, con una copia de la página en la que se encuentra la fotografía del solicitante de visa;
  • Presentar la cédula de identidad en original, con una copia de ambos lados.
  • Certificado de antecedentes penales emitido por la Oficina de Policía o la autoridad china Dicho certificado debe presentarse con la traducción en español y debidamente legalizado.   • Reservación de tiquete aéreo con las fechas de llegada y salida de Costa Rica. (No es necesario la compra del tiquete, ya que para este momento la visa aún no ha sido autorizada)
  • Prueba de solvencia económica: Estados de cuenta bancarios del interesado (últimos tres meses o más), certificaciones de propiedad de vehículos o inmuebles, así como cualquier otra documentación que pueda comprobar que el interesado posee medios económicos suficientes para costear su permanencia en Costa Rica y su arraigo en el país de origen. Si los documentos estuvieran en otro idioma que no fuera el español, se debe aportar con la traducción en español y debidamente legalizado. (Demostración económica)

Si la visa es por motivos de ocio debe adjuntar documentos que corroboren su motivo turístico: reservación de hotel, automóvil, tour reservados, lo pertinente. Si se va a hospedar en una casa de habitación deberá aportar la carta de invitación firmada por el propietario o arrendatario del inmueble.

Si la visa es por motivos de negocios debe aportar una carta de Certificación Comercial emitida por el Consejo Chino para el Fomento del Comercio Internacional (CCPIT), (licencia de negocio y carta de despacho) Nota: Desde el 1 de febrero de 2016 la certificación dual del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de China y de la Embajada de Costa Rica en China será requerida. (Contactos de China Chamber of International Commerce:010-82217030,82217035,82217058). Carta original de invitación de la contraparte costarricense, firmada y sellada con  agenda de negocios. La carta de invitación debe indicar el nombre del solicitante, número de pasaporte,  fecha de nacimiento, su profesión,  donde trabaja, y el motivo de la invitación.  Carta original de la empresa para la que trabaja, firmada y sellada, que corrobore el motivo.

Para ciudadanos de otra nacionalidad que no sea la R.P. China, debe presentar:
– copia del pasaporte legalizado/apostillado
– Certificado de antecedentes penales del país de origen y la R.P. China apostillado/legalizado

Al presentar los documentos, se le hará una corta entrevista al interesado.

El Cónsul podrá solicitar documentos adicionales si fuera necesario aclarar alguna duda, y cuenta, según el Reglamento para el otorgamiento de visas de ingreso a Costa Rica, con  30 días naturales para resolver en forma definitiva la solicitud.

Nótese que una vez otorgada la visa, el usuario tiene 60 días para ingresar al territorio costarricense, por lo que se les ruega tener esto presente antes de pedir la cita. Si su solicitud de visa es denegada debe tomar en consideración las disposiciones del artículo 17 del Reglamento para el otorgamiento de visas de ingreso a Costa Rica, vigente:

«Artículo 17. Contra la denegatoria de una visa no cabrá recurso ordinario ni extraordinario en virtud de lo establecido en los artículos 59 y 222 de la Ley. No podrá plantearse una nueva solicitud, sino hasta pasados seis meses a partir de la denegatoria.»

Es necesario tomar en consideración que la Sección Consular lleva registros de los usuarios a los que ha denegado la visa, por lo que se solicita respetar la normativa para evitar complicaciones posteriores.

Importante: Si la persona interesada cuenta ya con un expediente en la Dirección General de Migración por motivo de reunificación familiar, la visa se considerará como tal.

Visa procedures

Tourism – Leisure or Business Consular Visa

Appointments are requested only by phone at 010 6532-4157. When requesting the appointment, the interested must indicate:

-Passport number

-Full name (according to passport)

–  Birthdate

-Contact phone number in China.

The consular visa application for tourism is presented personally at the Consulate of Costa Rica in Beijing. Applications are not accepted by mail. The procedure is strictly personal and passports will not be given to third parties, without exception.

The necessary requirements for the visa process are presented below. The procedure can’t be carried out if the requirements are incomplete. If so, the request will be denied at the time.

ALL visa applications require:

1) Application form with all the complete information, with date and signature of the interested

2)  3 photographs, white background, size 2.5cm * 3.5 cm

3)  Passport with a six-month validity counted from the planned date of entry into Costa Rica, with a copy of the page on which the photograph of the visa applicant is located;

4)  Present the identity card in original, with a copy of both sides.

5) Criminal Record Certificate issued by the Police Office or the Chinese authority. This certificate must be presented with the translation in Spanish and duly legalized. 6)  Air ticket reservation with the arrival and departure dates of Costa Rica. (The purchase of the ticket is not necessary, since for this moment the visa has not yet been authorized)

7) Proof of economic solvency: bank account statements of the interested (last three months or more), ownership certificates of vehicles or real estate, as well as any other documentation that can prove that the interested has sufficient economic means to pay for the stay in Costa Rica. If the documents were in a language other than Spanish, the translation must be provided in Spanish and duly legalized. (Economic demonstration)

If the visa is for leisure reasons you must attach documents that corroborate your tourist reason: hotel reservation, car, tour reservations, etc. If you are going to stay in a room house you must provide the invitation letter signed by the owner or tenant of the property.

If the visa is for business reasons, you must provide a Commercial Certification letter issued by the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), (business license and dispatch letter) Note: From February 1st of 2016 the certification dual of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the Embassy of Costa Rica to the P.R. of China will be required. (China Chamber of International Commerce Contacts: 010-82217030, 82217035, 82217058). Original letter of invitation from Costa Rica, signed and sealed with a business agenda. The letter of invitation must indicate the name of the applicant, passport number, date of birth, profession, where work, and the reason for the invitation. Original letter of the company for which you work, signed and stamped, to corroborate the reason.

For citizens of another nationality than the R.P. of China, the following documents are also necessary:
1. Copy of passport duly legalized/apostilled
2. Certificate of criminal record of the country of origin and the R.P. of China duly legalized/apostilled 

When presenting the documents, a short interview will be made to the interested.

The Consul may request additional documents if it is necessary to clarify any doubt, and has, according to the Regulations for the granting of entry visas to Costa Rica, 30 calendar days to definitively resolve the request.

Note that once the visa is granted, the user has 60 days to enter the Costa Rican territory, so please be aware of this before requesting the appointment. If your visa application is denied, you must take into consideration the provisions of Article 17 of the Regulations for the granting of entry visas to Costa Rica, in effect:

«Article 17. Against the denial of a visa, no ordinary or extraordinary recourse shall be allowed by virtue of what is established in articles 59 and 222 of the Law. A new application may not be submitted until six months after the denial.»

It is necessary to take into consideration that the Consular Section keeps records of the users to whom it has denied the visa, so it is requested to respect the regulations to avoid later complications.

Important: If the interested already has a file in the General Migration Office for reasons of family reunification, the visa will be considered as such.
