El primer vuelo chárter con insumos de protección personal donados por el gobierno de la República Popular China llegó este domingo 26 de abril, a la una y quince de la mañana al país con 186 metros cúbicos de carga aproximada, anunció el presidente ejecutivo de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) , doctor Román Macaya Hayes.
Al aeropuerto Juan Santamaría se hicieron presentes para recibir esta primera carga de la donación, el presidente ejecutivo, doctor Román Macaya, el gerente de Logística, ingeniero Luis Fernando Porras y por parte del gobierno de la República Popular China su embajador, señor Tang Heng.
Don Román Macaya agradeció esta importante donación que se suma al programa de aprovisionamiento institucional de materiales de protección personal que se están semanalmente entregando a todos los centros de salud según las necesidades.
El carguero salió del puerto Shanghai este 25 de abril con 140 mil monogafas de protección ocular, 40 mil batas descartables y 40 mil mascarillas quirúrgicas desechables, informó el doctor Macaya Hayes.
Macaya agregó que se tiene programado la llegada de los otros dos vuelos entre este domingo y el lunes, con lo cual se completará la entrega de la donación.
Por su parte, el ingeniero Luis Fernando Porras Meléndez, gerente de Logística explicó que desde este viernes, la CCSS estableció las coordinaciones con las autoridades aeroportuarias para el traslado de los bienes.
Durante la misma noche se procedió con los trámites de nacionalización de la mercadería, luego la inspección de ingreso y su control de calidad.
Este sábado, la gerencia de Logística movilizó cinco camiones de carga a la base dos del Aeropuerto Juan Santamaría, para trasladar alrededor de 20 mil kilos de bienes al Área de Almacenamiento y Distribución (ALDI) de la CCSS.
Porras Meléndez reafirmó la importancia de la contratación del servicio carguero chárter para disponer en menor tiempo de estos insumos donados. “Actualmente los países enfrentan dificultades para sacar las mercaderías compradas a proveedores en China, debido a la alta demanda en el mercado que genera tiempos prolongados y lentos para la salida de estos bienes”.
El presidente de la República, Carlos Alvarado, agradeció esta donación del gobierno de la República Popular China. “Esta es una prueba más del gran trabajo que puede alcanzar nuestra institucionalidad. El Gobierno de la República está garantizando no solo el acceso a la salud para nuestra ciudadanía, sino que estamos procurando la protección de nuestro personal de salud que son las heroínas y los héroes de primera línea de atención”, expresó el mandatario.

The first charter flight with personal protection supplies donated by the government of the People’s Republic of China arrived this Sunday, April 26, at 1:15 in the morning with 186 cubic meters of approximate cargo, announced the executive president of the Caja Costa Rican Social Security (CCSS), doctor Román Macaya Hayes.
The Juan Santamaría airport was present to receive this first load of the donation, the executive president, Dr. Román Macaya, the Logistics manager, engineer Luis Fernando Porras, and by the government of the People’s Republic of China, its ambassador, Mr. Tang Heng.
Don Román Macaya thanked this important donation that joins the institutional supply program of personal protection materials that are being delivered weekly to all health centers as needed.
The freighter left the Shanghai port on April 25 with 140,000 eye protection mono-goggles, 40,000 disposable gowns and 40,000 disposable surgical masks, Dr. Macaya Hayes reported.
Macaya added that the other two flights are scheduled to arrive between this Sunday and Monday, which will complete the delivery of the donation.
For his part, the engineer Luis Fernando Porras Meléndez, Logistics manager explained that since this Friday, the CCSS established the coordination with the airport authorities for the transfer of the goods.
During the same night, the merchandise nationalization procedures were followed, then the entrance inspection and its quality control.
This Saturday, the Logistics management mobilized five cargo trucks to base two of the Juan Santamaría Airport, to move around 20 thousand kilos of goods to the Storage and Distribution Area (ALDI) of the CCSS.
Porras Meléndez reaffirmed the importance of hiring the charter cargo service to have these donated supplies available in less time. «Currently, countries face difficulties in removing merchandise purchased from suppliers in China, due to the high demand in the market that generates long and slow times for the exit of these goods.»
The President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, thanked this donation from the government of the People’s Republic of China. “This is further proof of the great work that our institutionality can achieve. The Government of the Republic is guaranteeing not only access to health for our citizens, but we are seeking the protection of our health personnel who are the heroines and heroes of the front line of care, «said the president.
